CLEVELAND — What a win! The Cleveland Browns shocked the naysayers with a 48-37 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card playoff round Sunday night.
On this edition of the On the GO! 3News morning aftershow, the team gathered to chat with fans about the feeling in Cleveland after the Browns brought home their first playoff win since 1994.
“I can’t tell you what it meant for this city and everything we’ve been through in sports,” said morning anchor Dave Chudowsky, who was a former sports reporter. “The last two times they were in the playoffs the Steelers knocked them out so that was a ton of built up whatever you want to call it unleashed on the Steelers last night. A can of ‘whoop you know what.’”

The Browns released postgame notes early Monday morning indicating Sunday’s win was the team’s first postseason victory over the Steelers. The Browns lost two playoff matchups in January of 1995 and January of 2003.
3News’ Austin Love, who was 2-years-old the last time the Browns won a playoff game, added why he believed Browns fans have to feel good.
“Not only did we beat Ben Roethlisberger, which is great, but the final image that they showed on Sunday Night Football, basically, was him sitting by himself looking like a sad sap crying,” Love said.
Kathy Manley Honsaker, a Facebook viewer who chimed in during the live show, wrote, “broadcasters not having words last night was priceless.”
Kristina Reagan, another Facebook viewer, added: “Cleveland against the world and guess what: Cleveland WINS!!!”
