CLEVELAND — We’re not sure it completely takes the sting out of last week’s collapse, but it comes pretty close.
It’s not hyperbole to say Thursday night’s 29-17 win over the Steelers was one of the biggest Browns victories in a long time. After days of anger, finger-pointing, and doubts as to just how good this team was, they managed to finish the job against their most-hated rival, and in the process vaulted themselves to the top of the AFC North standings (yes, we know it’s only three weeks in).
In contrast to the scorn that permeated Cleveland this past Sunday and beyond, the mood is now jovial, as is normally the case after a triumph over Pittsburgh. It may have been an ugly affair, but any time you can get a W over the Black and Gold, you’ll take it.
Here’s what the 3News team was saying after the big win:
That was the most dominant win I’ve seen a team have when the other team still had a chance to win on the final play.

My 23-17 #Browns win, score prediction was spot-on…until that.
Who cares?!
Cleveland a winner 29-17, Browns improve to 2-1 on the season.

Meanwhile, here’s what Browns fans (and even former players) across the city and country were Tweeting out:
Jacoby Brissett has exceeded every single expectation. Kevin Stefanski has that offense humming. #Browns

Seriously at this point let’s just ride with Brissett. Leave Watson at home. It’s a lot easier to root for the team like this. #browns

I haven’t seen better back to back games from a Browns QB since Derek Anderson from Brisset.
What a major upgrade.
