CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins is receiving national recognition after his performance in the team’s upset against the San Francisco 49ers.
The NFL announced on Wednesday that Hopkins was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
The award comes after Hopkins made four field goals, including the game-winning 29-yard field goal with 1:30 left, in the team’s 19-17 victory against the previously undefeated San Francisco 49ers. Hopkins made a 29-yard, 42-yard, 46-yard and a 50-yard field goal in the win.
Currently, Hopkins has made 50-plus yard field goals in the past four games, which is the longest streak in Browns’ history.
Since joining the Cleveland Browns, Hopkins has gone 12-14 on field goals and has made all five PATs.
Previously, Hopkins has been named Special Teams Player of the Week four times, three times in the NFC and one time in the AFC.
