CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns are hosting a quarterback workout on Friday morning following Wednesday’s news of Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder injury.
According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, former Super Bowl MVP and Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is among those present.
The 38-year-old QB previously led the Ravens to a Super Bowl in 2012. Following a successful run in Baltimore, Flacco spent a year in Denver and three seasons with the Jets. The veteran quarterback owns a 37-27 all-time record against AFC North teams.
Currently, the Cleveland Browns are turning to rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson as the team takes on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a pivotal Week 11 game.
Earlier this week, Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry said that they plan on adding an additional quarterback at some point this season.
“As with any part of the roster, we are always open to anything that helps improve the team,” Berry said. “We do believe in carrying three quarterbacks between the active and practice squad. What that distribution looks like really depends on the player. The one thing I will share is that we will add a quarterback at some point in the near future. What that looks like will be to be determined.”
