Preview:
Cleveland left Denver with a multitude of questions as several of their key players were injured, including quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who was named the team’s starter following Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder injury.
As the Browns head into Sunday’s game, the quarterback situation is unstable, yet again. With Thompson-Robinson still in concussion protocol, veteran QB Joe Flacco is slated to become the fourth QB to start for the Browns this season.
Among those who were injured during the team’s loss to the Broncos was Myles Garrett. Thankfully, Garrett did not suffer any structural damage to his left shoulder, but his status is uncertain for Sunday. Additionally, the status of CB Denzel Ward remains unknown as he deals with a shoulder injury that led him to miss Week 12.
Recently, the Rams’ defense has stepped up, holding the Seahawks to 16 points and the Cardinals to 14 points in their last two contests. This could be dangerous for a Browns offense that is struggling to find its rhythm in the midst of injuries.
However, last week, the Rams’ offense was hot and produced with Matthew Stafford throwing four touchdowns. Kyren Williams led the team in rushing with 143 yards on 16 carries. Cleveland’s top-ranked defense will have to look to shut down the receiving duo of Puka Naucaua and Cooper Kupp.
