With the secret out, the Bucs posted on X to announce to fans the big milestone for their new quarterback.
TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield announced he and his wife will be welcoming their first child to the world in 2024.
In a post on Instagram, Emily Mayfield shared a photo of them on the beach holding a sonogram with their dog lying next to them seemingly smiling.
“We’ve been hiding a little something…,” Emily Mayfield wrote. “But we are THRILLED to share that baby girl Mayfield will be joining our crazy crew in early April 2024!”
With the secret out, the Bucs posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce to fans the big milestone for their new quarterback.
“The Mayfields are adding to the family,” the team posted.
Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has only been calling Tampa his new home for a couple of months after signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and agreeing to terms with the unrestricted free-agent quarterback.
He started his career with the Cleveland Browns before landing with the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams in 2022.
After a prolific career at Oklahoma, winning the Heisman Trophy award, Mayfield has struggled somewhat in the NFL. His career record is 38-46 throwing 120 touchdowns with 72 interceptions.
Tampa Bay is hoping to tap into the man they saw in 2020 when he threw for 3,563 yards with 26 touchdowns and eight picks. He even helped the Browns win their first playoff game since 1994.
