
CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns have reportedly announced their plans for CB Greg Newsome II.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news via X, formerly known as Twitter, that the Browns have picked up Newsome’s fifth-year option.
According to reporter Mary Kay Cabot of WKYC’s partner, Cleveland.com, Newsome’s fifth-year option for 2025 is fully guaranteed at $13.37 million.
The move came two days before the Thursday deadline to exercise the fifth-year option on his rookie contract.
Newsome was drafted by the Browns in the first round as the 26th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.
In 41 games with the Browns, the Northwestern University product has recorded 128 tackles, 28 passes deflected, four tackles for loss, two QB hits and two interceptions.
