CLEVELAND — Joe Flacco is reportedly coming back to the Cleveland Browns.
The veteran quarterback and the Browns agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract that could be worth up to $13 million with incentives, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Despite drawing reported interest from other teams this offseason—including the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings—Flacco opted to go to Cleveland for what will be his 18th NFL season.
Flacco originally joined the Browns midseason in 2023 amid a series of injuries to the quarterback room, including a season-ending shoulder injury to starter Deshaun Watson.
His leadership and on-field production sparked a late-season surge that helped secure a playoff berth. However, the team ultimately lost 45-14 to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round.
Most recently, Flacco spent the 2024 NFL season with the Indianapolis Colts, throwing for 1,761 yards in eight games and 12 touchdowns.
During his time in Cleveland, he went 4-1 in five starts and passed for more than 300 yards in four straight games with 13 touchdowns.
The Browns’ quarterback room has undergone several changes this offseason. In addition to re-signing Flacco, the team acquired Kenny Pickett in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Cleveland is also holding the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, giving the front office flexibility as it evaluates the future at the quarterback position amid uncertainty surrounding Watson’s recovery from a second Achilles surgery.
