Following their 6-10 season in 2019, the Cleveland Browns lay claim to the No. 10 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
And while the team may not have a general manager currently in place, there is still plenty of reason for Browns fans to turn into Saturday’s Senior Bowl, which will feature several of the draft’s top prospects.
Which players taking the field in Mobile, Alabama, on Saturday could be of particular interest to the Browns? Let’s take a look:
Josh Jones, OT, Houston
One of the biggest risers in Mobile this week, Josh Jones is arguably the top prospect at Cleveland’s biggest position of need who was in Mobile this week. A 6-foot-7, 310-pound offensive tackle, Jones is analytics darling, who could be in play for the Browns at No. 10 in April.
Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton
Like Jones, Dayton tight end Adam Trautman is looking to build off a big week in Mobile. And considering new Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski’s affinity for running two tight end sets, the Browns will likely be in the market to add at least one player at the position in either the draft or free agency.
Michael Pittman Jr., WR, USC
Wide receiver isn’t the Browns’ biggest position of need, but Michael Pittman Jr. possesses something neither Jarvis Landry nor Odell Beckham Jr. does — size. At 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, Pittman isn’t only intriguing but has also been productive, having tallied 101 receptions for 1,275 yards and 11 touchdowns in his senior season at USC.
Lloyd Cushenberry III, OL, LSU
Between Eric Kush and Wyatt Teller, the Browns never seemed to find their answer at right guard in 2019. And while Lloyd Cushenberry III spent the bulk of his college career playing center, the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder possesses both the size and ability to play multiple spots on the offensive line.
Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
Defensive tackle isn’t the Browns’ biggest position of need, but with Larry Ogunjobi entering the final season of his contract, it’s worth considering. Plus, with Javon Kinlaw being the top-ranked prospect overall playing in the game, he’ll likely have to be considered by Cleveland with the No. 10 pick based on talent alone.
Brycen Hopkins, TE, Purdue
Given their need at the position, every tight end in the draft could be in play for the Browns. And Purdue’s Brycen Hopkins may very well be the top prospect at the position after recording 61 receptions for 830 yards and 7 touchdowns in his senior season.
K.J. Hill, WR, Ohio State
At 6-foot and 195 pounds, K.J. Hill doesn’t possess prototypical size. But between his productive college career and impressive week in Mobile, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Ohio State’s all-time leader in receptions become one of this spring’s biggest risers.
Malik Harrison, LB, Ohio State
With Joe Schobert entering free agency and Christian Kirksey’s future in Cleveland uncertain, linebacker has quietly become one of the Browns’ bigger needs. After tallying 75 tackles — 16.5 of which came for a loss — in his senior season, Harrison ranks as Matt Miller of Bleacher Report’s No. 3 linebacker and possesses the versatility to play multiple linebacker positions at the next level.
Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Auburn
Between Greg Robinson entering free agency and Chris Hubbard’s ineffectiveness, the Browns may be replacing both of their starting tackles in 2020. As a result, they’ll likely consider drafting multiple players at the position, with Prince Tega Wanogho possessing the experience (32 starts at Auburn) to be a potential Day 1 starter.
Eno Benjamin, RB, Arizona State
Even if Kareem Hunt remains with the Browns as a restricted free agent in 2020, it’s unlikely his time in Cleveland will last longer than one more season. Arizona State’s Eno Benjamin could make for an intriguing replacement after amassing 3,492 total yards (2,867 rushing, 625 receiving) and 31 total touchdowns in three seasons at Arizona State.
