LOS ANGELES — People often like to speculate on just how big of sports fans celebrities claim to be, but no one can question Steve Harvey’s loyalty to the Cleveland Browns.
The popular comedian and ‘Family Feud” host has rooted for the team ever since his days growing up in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood, and went to high school during the Nick Skorich era (remember him?). Like many of us, he can point to the good times of Sipe and Kosar, but also stuck it out through 1-31.
So when the Browns unveiled their new uniforms this week (a call back to the classic look they wore throughout most of their history), it was natural that Harvey would get in on the action. On Friday, the 63-year-old posted a video of himself geeking out over his new digs.
“We’re gonna make the playoffs. Period!” Harvey said as he donned a brown Jarvis Landry jersey. “I ain’t got no time for haters. If you don’t think we’re going to the playoffs, don’t even comment!”
Harvey’s reaction seems to mirror the mostly positive response from fellow fans, who were eager to see the Browns ditch their look from 2015 that saw them go 17-62-1 over five seasons. Coincidentally (or maybe not?), Harvey was also wearing orange pants in his video, which seems to be the only thing Clevelanders still want to see added.

The new uniforms are on sale now at the Browns’ online team shop, with all proceeds going directly to first responders on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Harvey noted the team’s charitable efforts and urged others to buy the jerseys and support the cause.
