The Cleveland Browns have shut down their facility and placed fullback Andy Janovich on the COVID-19 reserve list.

One day after beating the Houston Texans by a score of 10-7, the Cleveland Browns have shut down their facility after a player has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The team later placed fullback Andy Janovich on the COVID-19 reserve list, which is reserved for players who have tested positive for or been exposed to the coronavirus.
In a statement released on Monday, the Browns said: “This morning the Cleveland Browns were informed that a player has tested positive for COVID-19. Per our NFL-NFLPA standard protocols, the individual has immediately self-isolated and the Browns facility is closed while contact tracing is being conducted. The team will continue to consult with the league and medical experts on the appropriate next steps as the health and safety of our players, coaches, staff and the entire community remains our highest priority.”
The Browns’ shutdown marks their second in four days after the team also closed their facility on Friday following a positive test. The team later placed offensive lineman Chris Hubbard on its COVID-19 reserve list.
While Hubbard remained sidelined for Cleveland’s win over Houston on Sunday, no other player was played on the COVID-19 reserve list as a result of contact tracing. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said his team was prepared to once again deal with the unique circumstances of playing football amid a pandemic.
“That’s the world we live in right now and we’re ready to do whatever is necessary to keep everybody safe,” Stefanski said.
Laying claim to a 6-3 record, Cleveland is scheduled to host the Philadelphia Eagles at FirstEnergy Stadium in a Week 11 matchup on Sunday.
