WKYC: Cleveland Browns fans gather in Muni Lot to tailgate for opener

Despite a 4:25 p.m. start, Cleveland Browns fans got out to the Muni Lot bright and early to celebrate the start of football season and cheer on the Browns.

CLEVELAND — Here we go, Brownies! 

After a long NFL offseason, Cleveland Browns football is back at the newly-named Huntington Bank Field. For many Browns fans, that signals the resumption of another time-honored fall tradition: tailgating at the Muni Lot.

While Sunday’s game is set for an early-evening kickoff time of 4:25 p.m., that didn’t stop Browns fans from packing the Muni Lot bright and early; the west portion of the lot opened at 6 a.m. while the east opened at 8:30 a.m., and fans were certainly there in time to ring in the new season.

3News anchor Danielle Wiggins and photojournalist Sam Ganforth were in and amongst the revelry Sunday morning, talking with tailgaters and snapping photos and videos of the celebratory atmosphere.
