Netflix confirmed the posts are inaccurate and do not describe the projects underway with the streaming company.
CLEVELAND — As the saying goes, you can’t believe everything you read. That’s more true than ever when it comes to things you read on social media.
THE CLAIM
Today we’re looking at several posts that have been shared on Facebook claiming documentaries about the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Cuyahoga Valley National Park are coming soon to Netflix.

To VERIFY if these claims are true, we checked with:
- Netflix
- The Browns
- The Cavaliers
- Cuyahoga Valley National Park
- European sports website SkySports.com
EXPLANATION
Looking at the posts about the Browns and the Cavs, we can see that the language is exactly the same, the top photo is exactly the same, and the URL the poster is asking you to click on starts with the same website domain name, which is SkySportt.com (with two t’s).
Comparing this website to the popular European sports website SkySports.com, we can see SkySportt.com (with two t’s) is using the SkySports.com logo, and SkySportt.com (with two t’s) has posted other articles about supposed Netflix projects.
After taking note of all of these red flags, I asked the Browns and the Cavs if they have upcoming Netflix projects we should know about. Sources from both teams told us that they don’t.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park was mentioned in a similar post, claiming a Netflix documentary will come out about them in April. I asked the person with CVNP who would know about this, and they said no one has reached out to them about anything like this.
I doublechecked with Netflix about all of these posts and a spokesperson told me, “These claims are inaccurate and these are not Netflix projects.”
ANSWER
So we can VERIFY that Netflix does not have documentaries in the works or coming any time soon about the Browns, Cavs, or Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The end goal of posts like these isn’t always clear, but this is definitely a scam. Rest assured that if a Netflix documentary was coming out about any of these organizations, you’d hear about it from them, and you’d hear about it from 3News.
